I got this about a month ago for home use and have put it through a fair amount of shredding. It can handle 12 sheets with no problem — so far no paper jams or overheating. I wish the bin were a little larger so I wouldn’t have to empty it as often, but other than that I am satisfied with this purchase.

Has an off function to preserve led life
The led from my old shredder finally died after being set on “auto” mode for several years. Luckily this one has an off setting so you can use it for a long time. Not sure about the cleaning instruction to drop vegetable oil into the blades though

My old paper shredder finally died. It had many great years, but after many jams it decided to just not turn on. It led me to buy this shredder. And I cannot believe I waited so long to buy a new one. This shredder cross cuts credit cards with ease. Those massive envelopes that the insurance company sends, gone in a matter of a minute. It quickly cuts through everything with so much ease. There have been letters that I haven’t opened and just shredded. No pauses or stops with this shredder!

This is the second time I’ve purchased this shredder. The first one of this model I bought for myself and have been using it for quite a while now. I’ve had no problems with mine and found it very helpful to have so, I thought it would make a useful gift. It’s sturdy , strong, runs well and it appears well-made. Does the job
This shredder does the job, with some caveats:The capacity is 12 sheets, but the opening for paper is so close to 8 1/2 inches wide that if you insert papers slightly crooked or off-center, there’s a high likelihood that the edges will end up folding over, which doubles the papers going through. So I usually don’t insert more than 5 or 6 pages at a time. Although it’s usually not a problem, that’s not so great if I have a lot to shred at a time, and I’m frustrated that I paid for the higher capacity only to find myself back at a 6-sheet max (self-imposed or not).Sometimes I find an un-shredded strip of papers remaining in the teeth at one of the edges, which is usually fine because most documents don’t have sensitive information, if any, in the margins.My previous shredder’s bin was a tad smaller than this one, which was the perfect size to fit a paper grocery bag over the opening and flip it upside down to empty it. This bin is too big for that trick, so it’s a messy task to empty the shreds into a paper bag now. I have to kind of “pour” the shreds into the paper bag while trying to keep the bag from collapsing shut (I could probably make this easier on myself if I were to just dump it all into a garbage bag, but I can’t stand the idea of putting recyclable paper shreds into a plastic bag and throwing it into a landfill!)On the upside, several reviewers complained about the noise, but I actually find that it’s quieter (though higher-pitched) than the older, smaller Fellowes one I was using.Because it’s new, it’s nice and sharp (as any new shredder would be), and because I don’t load it to capacity, it eats through papers without getting stressed out (as any shredder should do in that case). I don’t think it’s an amazingly superior product, but overall I am happy to have it.

Works Great
This one works great, is less noisy than the others I bought and returned, and the bucket is bigger.I have been using it for several days for several hours during the day at various times since I cleaned out old paperwork that I found in a bin. I have had no problems with it.I had purchased previously two other cheaper Amazon Basic shredders and they didn’t work very well; kept jamming.So I paid more and got a very good shredder; I am happy with it.Just an FYI – if you don’t already do this. I put a heavier bag in the basket to collect the shredded paper since I recycle the paper. The bag is like one that would come on a pillow. Then I can just pick up the bag and put it in the bigger bag I take to recycle (kitchen garbage bag) instead of picking up the bucket to empty it.

I bought this Amazon brand shredder about 2 years ago as a replacement for an old one and it’s performed very well. I’ve used it to shred up to six sheets of paper at once and it does so with absolutely no issues. Seems to work well
Update 8/23/24: I’ve put it through a good test. It slowed and struggled when shredding 8 pieces of paper documents. I feel trying to push 12 pcs as advertised you’re going to end up with a lot of paper jams. A larger basket would be nice, with less than 5 mins. of steady feeding @ 4 pages at a time, I had to empty the basket. When removing the head for emptying, I found sitting it in the lid of a small gift box helped to contain the excess pieces that fall out..and saved from pulling out the vacuum! I’m still very pleased with the quietness of this machine.Received the 12 page shredder yesterday (8/19), and it’s 1 star less because I’ve only done a short test so far, will update soon. I’m elderly and disabled so when I say it’s easy to put together, trust me it took less than 5 mins. The main surprise I got was how quiet it is. I thought the noise level would be an issue from the video reviews, but it’s not. I realized when they were recording the device review it was very close to the machine, so naturally it would sound loud. Personally I don’t see the need to shred 12 pages at a time, nor run it longer than the time recommended, since I’ll be shredding a little here and there as I sort documents. Plus maybe that’s the key to longevity for any shredder. Happy shredding!!

5 Years Old Going Strong
I bought this cheap shredder five years ago — in 2019. After the umpteenth pile of financial documents I pushed through her teeth this afternoon, I marveled at how reliable this little unit is. It just keeps on shredding without any mishaps or choking on the stuff I feed it.It will cut through staples without complaint. I have not tried paper clips or heavier duty fasteners. I think that is asking too much if this cheap machine. It shreds credit cards, but slows down considerably when eating them.This is not NSA-level shredding but I think it is adequate for routine family financial and medical information. I do, however, need a set of needle-nosed pliers when I empty it because wads of paper get wedged into the corners.I pushed it way beyond’s its intended light use when we moved two years ago. I had decades of old records that I no longer had a reason to keep and did not want to pay to move. I am talking about a large attic full of records that I shredded in long sessions over a couple of weeks. I fully expected this little thing would give up the ghost and give me a reason to buy a new, more robust unit. But it swallowed all of the papers without a problem or complaint.I am a retired lawyer and I tend to keep more papers than most but when I ultimately dump them, I am very conscious of shredding anything with information someone could use that could harm me. My wife thinks it’s silly, but I also peel prescription information from medicine bottles and shred them too. Trash haulers (for whom I have a lot of respect) sometimes spill stuff in getting our refuse in its truck, especially when overstuffed bags break. I have found on the street neighbors’ paystubs, tax forms, and yes, even prescription medicine bottles. I have to have my unit dumped every other week during “light” periods. Today, in clearing out two years of documents, I had to empty it twice.I can only relate my experience but I am impressed with how much this cheap little thing has shredded for me and how reliable it’s been.

Great, inexpensive shredder
Purchased for my home. Did not need fancy or large one, and this one is perfect. The ONLY negative I have to say about it (if you even want to call it a negative) is that you can only put 3-4 sheets of paper in it at once otherwise it jams. I guess I am used to the larger, commercial shredders at work, haha! It is a little noisy (I wasn’t expecting it to be so loud) but the shredding power is fantastic. I’ve shredded quite a few things and I haven’t had to empty it once so it seems to hold quite a bit. I would definitely purchase again.

Quiet & Effective!
Just got this shredder and already so happy with it! It’s remarkably quiet compared to the one that recently broke. I would say my old one was probably 10 years old, so it’s nice to see that they are making them much more ear friendly. So far, it has easily shred everything I’ve given it. Very glad that I went with a lower mid-range model, rather than the basic one.

Shreds through everything
I was looking for a new shredder to take care of confidential material. This shredder does not disappoint in the slightest. From paper to credit cards and everything else I throw at it and takes it and shreds it up. Extremely durable, strong performance, noise is manageable. Very easy to clean when the bin gets full. The shredder is versatile, and the size is perfect for my home office.

It’s a decent workhorse and works as intended
It’s a great product to have around the office. I work from home with a medium office so it has no problem fitting into the space right under the printer. I haven’t used it with credit cards but will probably do so in the future; it feeds on piles of 8–10 papers continuously very well, but be mindful of each paper thickness and texture when you’re combining. The standard plain printing and even glossy papers can go together easily, but for heavy duty papers, it’s best to have them going in one by one, or up to 3–5 only.

Great overall paper shredder. Wouldn’t exactly consider an 8sheet paper shredded. If you shred an actual 8sheets of paper, it seems to struggle and slow down quite a bit. If you continuously shred stacks of 8, I think the shredder would overheat and break. Use almost daily, shredding only a few pieces at time, and it seems to be doing just fine.
