Cable too thick for Secretlab Magnus Monitor Arm cable channels/guides
The cable is thicker than expected and was too thick to fit inside the Secretlab Magnus monitor arm cable management channels. The cable diameter is millimeters too wide to go into the channel and the cable end is too large to snake through the channel opening. Neither company is at fault, but as a word of caution for potential buyers who own the Secretlab Magnus monitor arms, this cable will not fit in the magnetic cable management channels.

This cable does what it claims, I got this to replace the display port cables i originally purchased for my gaming pc setup, at the time i was new to display port and didnt really understand that you need to get a cable that is compatible with the resolution/frequency your are going to be running your monitor(s) at. I run 1440p 144hz on my main monitor and 1080 160hz i believe on my secondary monitor, the cables i originally purchased were not compatible at 2k resolution therefor that monitor would randomly flicker or get weird static/lines across the screen intermittently and i honestly thought it was either my monitor or my gpu but thankfully it was neither, the cable was the blame. So after purchasing and using this cable for about a month now ive had no issues what so ever with the monitor flickering or anything i get a perfect crystal clear picture and my gaming experience has been exactly what it should be.So yea be aware it definitely does matter when it comes to display port cables, the first time id really encountered something similar to this is when 4k tv’s first started coming out, you had to make sure the hdmi cable you had was compatible and able to handle the 4k signal so same thing applies here.

Cable sheathing extremely thick
Quality cable with extremely thick and stiff sheathing, which makes routing it through monitor arm channels very difficult. It almost didn’t fit in the channels do to how thick it is. If your application requires minimal bending these will be okay, but if you need any sort of cable manipulation for routing look elsewhere as these are terrible to work with.

Thick, bulky and had a strange issue
These cables seem like they are very high quality; they’re very substantial. Unfortunately they’re also very unwieldy. With a lot of monitors they seem to go out of their way to make it difficult to find the display port socket (no different than HDMI, DVI and VGA, it’s always been a pain) and these just don’t bend much the are so thick.Also had a very strange issue. I can’t be 100% sure it was the cable, but here’s what happened. I have 3 identical ThinkVision monitors connected to 2 computers; work and personal. The monitor on the left side is dedicated to personal computer, he one of the right to work computer. The middle one I have connected to a DP A/B switch.I wish the display ports were just dumb, and I could just switch imput without the monitors knowing they are off and sending everything to the dedicated monitor when I hit the switch – maybe there is a setting to do that, I don’t know – it’s not a huge deal, I don’t switch between the 2 often.But out of the blue the other day, the middle monitor, when switched to my personal PC, suddenly reverted to 1600×900 instead of the 1920×1080 that it was supposed to be. Switching over to the work input – back to 1920×1080 – back to personal PC and it dropped to 1600×900. That wasn’t just the recommended setting, it was the highest available. I rebooted, re-installed video drivers – no change. What finally fixed it was replacing this cable.I know my setup is a little weird and kind of janky – and to be fair I used another of the exact same cable to fix it (I had ordered 3 but only used 2)

Nice enough cable but the cable sheathing is absurdly thick. At least 1.5x the diameter of the shorter Displayport cable I replaced it with. I’m glad I only had to use one of these in my setup because getting it into monitor arm channels and my under-desk cable management solution was a huge pain.

Not ideal for me
I overlooked this cable did not have a latch to lock the cable in place. As a result, the cable was loose on both of my docking stations. Maybe it would be okay as long as you dont move things around. This cable says it also support HDR but when I enabled it on my monitor I just saw pink vertical lines so it appears HDR is not really supported. I ultimately decided to return this cable.

Decent Cable but Very Bulky
This review is for Amazon Basics 8K DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.4 cable in 10 foot length. I purchased three of these cables to use in my multi-monitor setup with Gigabyite AORUS FI25F monitors on a multi-monitor stand. I purchased these cables, because I was looking for something in the 9′-10′ length range that was DisplayPort version 1.4, was black in color, and did not have the DisplayPort connector latches. I was also looking to get something plain that was hopefully flexible. Unfortunately this cable is not very flexible. I was surprised by how bulky the cable itself was. It had a thicker diameter than that some DisplayPort cables I have that have a fabric sheathing over the cable. And even though overall plug length is short on this cable, it still needs more room than my other DisplayPort cables I have because of how inflexible it is. Overall the AmazonBasics cable is decent, but because of the bulk and inflexibility I couldn’t really do any cable management for my multi-monitor setup. I will say the placement of the connections on my monitor is increasing the cable management challenge, because the cable receptacles face straight down and are close to the bottom of the monitor. So I either need very flexible video and power cords, or I need to use 90 degree connectors. All-in-all this cable is a decent cable, will work for the vast majority of setups, and is great value for the price, but if you need something that is very flexible and not bulky you will need to find a different cable.

DisplayPort 1.4 Cable- Good quality, affordable, solid connections, performs to specifications
This DisplayPort 1.4 Cable is essentially what you are looking for if you do not need a higher version.At the time of this review DisplayPort 1.4 version is the most standard and widely used, with the most compatibility.If you aren’t sure if you need a higher version, you will want to check what your input and output sources can BOTH handle to determine the highest level DisplayPort cable that you want.In this case, my graphics card is DisplayPort 1.4 output and my monitor is DisplayPort 1.4 input, so this cable is perfect for my situation.The cost really is what is the driving point overall here, however, as it is generally great quality and reliability at a more affordable price than comeptitor cables of the same specs.

Does the job but rubber around port might be too thick for your computer
This DP cord is well made and does the job, but at first it did not fit into my PC because the rubber around the port was too thick to go into my PC. I ended up having to shave the rubber down with a very sharp knife and it worked! Not sure if that’s completely safe but it’s what I had to do in order to use this cable because the rubber seems pretty thick compared to other cables I have in my PC.

Very Good DisplayPort Cable For The Price!
I only have 1080P monitors so I can’t comment on 4K performance, so only 4 stars instead of 5. I upgraded my Home Media Server Win11Pro with a new Graphics card (Zotac NVidia RTX 3060 Ti) so I could start gaming. This new card only has 1 HDMI port and I needed that to go my TV through the Home Theater Receiver so I can game on the big screen. My main Monitor (Display 1) for this PC is an ASUS 21″ 1080P with an HDMI and a DisplayPort. This new DP cable has a better picture and refresh rate than the old HDMI 1.4 cable it replaced. The PC just works better with Steam when both Monitors are connected to the same Graphics card. The added bonus is that my ASUS monitor’s built-in speakers started working with this DP cable right away! They never work through the HDMI cable even though I could select them for audio out. I would definitely recommend this cable!IMHO: From what I’ve read the audio/video quality of the newest version of DP is just as good as HDMI 2.1 for 8K. It is open source and doesn’t take up any more space than HDMI. I don’t know why manufacturers don’t switch to DP so they don’t have to pay licensing fees for HDMI. This could potentially save the consumer some $ on electronics.

Thick cable jacket
Cable does the job. Arrived neatly wrapped up and packaged. Jacket on the cable is ticket and feels heavy and sturdy. Keep in mind this cable doesn’t come with the locking mechanism as other DisplayPort/HDMI cables but it snaps in well in place without any wobble.I did have some issues at first getting the signal to be recognized but not sure if it was the cable or my GPU/monitor.Recommended product!

Does what its supposed to. Didn’t realize there was a difference between HDMI and DP, but my monitor would only output 60 hz on HDMI but 144 hz on DP.

Basic only in name! This cable is top of the line!

Basic only in name, this cable is top of the line. I got the 6’ version because I felt something wasn’t right with my original setup. I have an RTX 3060 XC graphics card. I typically use the HDMI port for my setup, but I have that going to my Denon x3700H. My setup was an HDMI cable with an HDMI to-display port adapter going to a 32” 4K monitor with HDR. Before deciding to try this cable, I had thought I was getting all I could get out of my monitor, and this cable proved me wrong by unleashing the HDR even more. Previously, the HDR seemed a bit washed out. My gut instinct proved correct as soon as I hooked up this cable. Despite my original setup saying that I was getting HDR, there was an apparent glaring difference. My display is now crisp and vibrant, and the HDR looks tremendous.Some key things I noticed with this cable:An aesthetical observation, the cable is really thick (shown in video and pic), which could be a good indicator for determining the quality of the product but also can be a bad thing depending on where you need to run the cable.4K@120hz worked flawlessly4K@60hz worked flawlessly1440p looked greatAudio passthrough works and the audio sounded crispI almost went with a different brand but decided on the Amazon Basics brand because of how well Amazon stands behind its product. Given past experiences, I knew that if I had any issues with the cable Amazon would go above and beyond to rectify the situation. So ultimately, you are getting that peace of mind and a great product. Overall, I recommend this cable; it has been great so far!
