Gets monitor/tv hooked to modern pc in one cable no adaptors.
Easy to get signal from Dell computers to hdmi monitor with one cable. no adaptors needed. Most newish dells and others have. 2 Displayport outputs. This makes easy to connect hdmi monitor. Most monitors don’t have a Displayport input but do have hdmi. This solves all that fuss in one cable. I use 2 for duel monitors. Vga and dvi seem to be going away. No wonder This is far easier to work with carries digital sound too..

This is Display Port source to HDMI display
I bought the wrong cord. I’m sure this would work but be sure you purchase the cord you need because it is a one way data flow for these connections. I needed HDMI from my laptop to display port on my monitor. This cable is Display Port source to HDMI display. You can’t connect them the other way around and have it work. I had to order another cable with the right direction connection.

Definitely worth the Money! if you are looking to do dual monitor then you will only need this cord!I’m using this cord for dual monitor | Display Port (GPU) to HDMI (Second Monitor) You don’t need to enable anything on the computer or nothing soon as i put the Displayport in my GPU then HDMI to the secondary monitor it immediately picked it up and gave me display from my second monitor!If you did get this cord and you don’t see any display make sure you go to your monitor settings and change the display from VGA or DVI to HDMI so it will pick up the signal from HDMI pretty basic but some people do make that mistake.The quality is outstanding and it’s long enough to get the job done. My PC is on the floor so for this cord to go from the Floor (GPU) downwards to my secondary display (upwards) should tell you it’s long enough. You don’t need an Adapter or anything if you are trying to use this to get a secondary display for your second monitor you only need this cord!But REMEMBER! the displayport is the *SOURCE THAT WILL GIVE THE SECONDARY MONITOR DISPLAY* Then just hook the HDMI in the second monitor and you’ll have display.Hope this review helps others that may be looking for the same thing or doing the samething by using Display Port from the GPU to HDMI second monitorDisplayPort GPU To HDMI Second Monitor – Dual Monitor WORKED!

It works, but just on some computers and monitors
It is funny that the cable only works on some setup, probably requires more recent devices.To be more specific, I have a ROG GR8 desktop, a DELL ST2220L and a LG 23MP48HQ monitor. The desktop can output both HDMI and DP (one port for each) while both monitors can only accept HDMI but not DP. So to accomplish a dual-monitor setup, I need a DP to HDMI cable/adapter. I have an existing adapter that works but I want to buy a cable as backup. Unfortunately the cable just doesn’t work with these devices.I have tested the cable on newer monitor and desktop and found that the cable can function – I am not sure with the reason but I guess it could be related to versions of HDMI/DP, which are not mentioned in the product. Since the versions are not mentioned since years ago (according to other comments/reviews), I deduct 1 star from my rating. Improvement is needed.

It’s Well-Made and It Works.
Long story short, this is a cable. It appears to be well-made and it works, which are all one can ask of a cable, hence the five stars.For purposes of context, I used this cable to replace the combination of an HDMI cable, and a DisplayPort to HDMI dongle, to connect the DisplayPort video output of my computer to the HDMI input of my LED monitor. I’d been having intermittent problems with the monitor blanking out or losing sync, as well as startup delays during which Windows seemed to be looking for something, both of which seemed to be related to the dongle; so I decided to try this cable instead. It seems to have solved both problems quite nicely. Yay!While reading through the reviews, however, I noticed that some people said this cable didn’t fit, didn’t work, or reduced the video resolution. I believe most of those folks simply bought the wrong cable. Let me try to simplify things a bit.1. This cable is designed to connect a full-sized DisplayPort output (for example, on a computer) to a full-sized HDMI input (for example, on a monitor, television, or projector). If that is not what you are trying to do, then this is the wrong cable for you.2. The source (for example, a computer) must be DisplayPort, and the destination (for example, a monitor) must be HDMI. It will NOT work in the opposite direction. In geekspeak, this is a unidirectional cable, not a bidirectional one.3. If you’re running your display at 4K/UHD (3840 x 2160), then this cable is NOT what you need. 4K requires an HDMI 1.4 cable. This cable is only rated to work at resolutions up to FHD (1920×1080).Finally, please note that you do NOT need a DisplayPort to HDMI dongle if you use this cable. This cable replaces both the dongle and the cable. So if you’re currently using a dongle / cable combination, remove them both before installing this cable.Richard

I just bought my second “Amazon Basics” DP to HDMI cable for my new monitor because I had no issues with the one I bought for my other monitor after 3 years of use. I’m honestly not a big fan of Amazon as far as their business practices are concerned but I have to admit that I trust their electronics components. I’ve bought a number of “Amazon Basics” cables and adapters over the years and they just work. They’re usually pretty cheap and THEY WORK, which is not usually the case with the other cheap mystery brands I have purchased off Amazon.

Perfect product
I recently hooked up 3 monitors for work purposes. My docking station only had 1 HDMI so I decided to buy this cords to connect the other 2 monitors. It was a great purchase. The cords were just long enough to reach the dock without having too much extra cord. The quality and price are great.

DisplayPort is annoying
I never liked DisplayPort. VGA and those crazy DVI ports weren’t enough!!! Rather than waste money replacing a video card in an older computer this cable solved they problem well. Other solutions would have resulted in overhanging adapters putting stress on a video port.
