Good buy even if a bit flimsy
If you need bankers boxes that will be stacked/moved/used frequently then these may not be for you. These are a light weight box – thinner/more flimsy than Bankers Box and some other more expensive brands. They are perfect for my needs as the boxes won’t really be opened or moved often once filled. They also won’t be stacked directly on each other. I also like that they don’t have a ton of printing on them (just three blank lines on each end) as they are in an open room and very visible.

Excellent Quality Boxes!
These boxes are very sturdy and live up to their description of “Heavy Duty”. Further, they are a breeze to assemble. The box itself is one piece that simply needs to “open up”, and the lids are simple as well. Unfortunately, the lids were missing, so Amazon will be shipping replacements. I purchased 1,400 Avery lables (5162) to label the lids once they arrive.

Doesn’t hold up compared to other brands
The work fine, but they do not hold up to the rigors of moving compared to other brands. These are about 10% cheaper then bankers box, but that is reflected in their durability. They also have a tendency to get a bend in a side panel when assembling them, and the lids can just fall apart if the assembly is off center.If you are not going to load them with heavy items or stack them to max height, they should work fine.

Easily assembled boxes without any of the gluing/sticking issues mentioned by some reviewers. Cardboard definitely seems heavy duty and stronger/thicker than standard file boxes but it’s usually time that tells their durability – mine have only been in use for 3+ months now. And I have stacked the paper filled boxes only 3 high. I like the white colored exterior instead of a tan cardboard color. I am impressed with the Amazon Basics brand of this product and I saved money too over the other available brands – so thank you Amazon!

These take a lot of prep to put together. There are perforated parts that are supposed to be separated, but the perforations do not separate easily. Adequate for paper file storage
This product is similar to the Staples brand bankers boxes I use at work. Nothing fancy but adequate to handle paper files or other items you need to store away. Be aware of the weight capacity limits for these boxes as they are not “heavy duty,” and these boxes (like most boxes in general) don’t hold up well in humid basements (like here in Massachusetts) and are prone to fall apart and become moldy.Update 8/4/20: I was boxing some books on Sunday afternoon and used close to 20 of these boxes, and noticed a smokey-like (chemical?) odor to the boxes. I received another order of these boxes today, and the new batch have the same smokey-like odor in the carton they came in. I’m not sure what to make of it, but exposure to the odor (for me) is unpleasant. I’m docking a star for that odor, taking the product down from 5 to 4 stars.

GREAT FILE BOXES
It is SO nice to finally find some really sturdy file boxes, AND which don’t have brand name and all sorts of stuff written all over them. I have never understood why file box makers pasted their name all over the boxes. Nobody needs that. These look great, stacked neatly with the nice big labels we printed out an taped on with packing tape. Will be buying only these boxes from now on.

VERY sturdy but major manufacturing flaw
First, I LOVE these heavy duty boxes when/if they assembled as designed. The printed instructions were indecipherable. But I’ve assembled tons of boxes, so that was easy. BUT here is the problem:Looking into the box, you first need to fold cardboard sitting on the side down to the bottom. Then the sides fold over, and fit over that bottom on bottom edges, making a nice, tight, strong fit. When it works.Half the time, the bottom was GLUED BEHIND one of the sides! You cannot move cardboard behind something that’s glued! I had to use my strong utility/mat knife to carefully cut enough of the next-to-the-bottom-cardboard-behind-the-glued-side to liberate it to bend into the bottom of the box.Then the sides were really hard to fit straight down.I think the whole box was folded slightly off, so it wasn’t squared. Meaning: the box was not folded at 90 degree angles before that side was glued. That’s why the side was glued over the bottom and the other sides were hard to bend into place.So when the boxes were manufactured correctly, took a few quick moments to set up nice, strong, sturdy boxes.When the box was manufactured incorrectly, took some wrangling with a strong mat knife to liberate the bottom so it could be folded down.Box design: A+Box manufacturing: Epic Failure.Quality control: please pay attention!Will I buy these again? Probably because I do like the design. But I won’t be happy.

Versitile
These are my go-to boxes for storing household and garage items. They are easy to assemble and hold a lot of stuff. They are sturdy for a cardboard product, the lids fit nicely, and the white color is great when you write on them with a black marker. I use white tape so it can be pulled off when I change the content.

If you have ever put banker boxes together you will understand – the perferations tear apart easily without damaging the box portion. All the flaps fold well and the lids fold up nicely. Once together they carry the weight without collapsing or bending.

Best basic cheap file box for moving or non-permanent storage
These boxes are cheap and that’s what’s so great about them. I have moved so many times, including two cross-country moves in a single year. These boxes are fantastic for moving, especially if you don’t have a nearby liquor store you can dumpster dive for free boxes. They’re cheaper than plastic storage tubs and cheaper than moving boxes. They stack really well and I know for a fact we’ve stacked them higher than they should have been, without totally collapsing the boxes. Some boxes of books on the bottom were a bit squished, but that’s why the breakables weren’t in the bottom boxes. Since these boxes are so square, they are easier to organize in a room than a series of randomly-sized boxes.And I’ll let you in on a secret: Because a wall of them looks like everything is perfectly organized, it doesn’t matter what the contents actually are. Seriously, we bought several packs of these for our move last summer. We started by carefully packing everything, organized by room/type. Neat stacks of books, craft supplies, electronics, all organized and labeled. But as the moving deadline approached, we got less and less meticulous with the packing. We stuck empty boxes in every room and just tossed stuff in there that we wanted to take and slapped a vaguely descriptive label on it (“Crap,” “More Books,” “I Dunno, Cables?,” “Binders or Whatever,” “Leftover Kitchen Whatsits” were some of them). It was a haphazard mess in those last days. But it didn’t matter because all those perfectly square file boxes lined up made it look like we knew what we were doing and were organizing masters. I’m sure the whole neighborhood would have marveled at this visual feat if everyone wasn’t staying inside because of the pandemic.But seriously, it really made dealing with the last bits of random stuff a whole lot easier. I used to use storage tubs for the leftover whatsits, but those got heavy fast because heavy stuff somehow attracts more heavy stuff. We could just toss stuff in the file boxes at random without worrying about overloading them.Not having overly heavy boxes was definitely a necessity for us. I long ago learned not to put all my hardback books or CDs into large storage tubs and file boxes are the absolute perfect vessel to hold audiovisual and textual materials. No matter what I put in there, nothing is too heavy that most adults can’t lift one. No more throwing my back out because I decided to fill a while box with medical manuals and antique encyclopedias.Granted, they do have a weight limit. I definitely would not put a stack of lead ingots in there. The handles are fine for most uses, but if you fill one with reams of copy paper, the handles are going to start giving out after a few times schlepping the box from one place to another. Fortunately, the handles hold up long enough to haul to a moving truck and then into a new home.Since these boxes are so cheap, it’s not a big deal if any get ruined in a move. I’ve had storage tubs get crushed and shattered in moves and it sucks to pay ten bucks for a big tub that has to be tossed after one use. After each move, we’d usually have to recycle a quarter to a third of these file boxes because they were too beat up or had gotten stained. But the rest survived to be used as storage boxes until we had to move again. A few survived multiple moves until they got too beat up. Usually, the boxes that contained heavier items were the ones that lasted the shortest amount of time. Once they get too beat up, they make good containers to hold recyclables until it’s time for them to join their brethren in the great cardboard dumpster in the sky.Look, don’t expect great things out of these boxes. I’ve had banker’s boxes that survived a lot longer than these, but those are also more expensive and every time a banker’s box has to be recycled, I get cranky. The banker’s boxes are much better at holding heavier items than these Amazon Basics file boxes, but when you need to box a lot of stuff up fast and cheap without worrying about ruining good boxes, you can’t go wrong with these.

Good boxes and price
I needed to get these to move a roomful of books. The boxes held up nicely and the covers make it easy to store them, because they dint need to be taped. You can open and close them to add things as needed while packing. They are sturdy enough to stack, even with heavy books in them, and the price is a lot cheaper than in yhe stores. Highly recommend these for storing and moving.

The best price and works great!
I was looking for the best price and found it for these boxes. These are a medium strength, but they held up a set of heavier dishes very well. I did not use them for file folders, but rather, kitchen items that I am giving away. These worked fine. Assembly for me was easy because I have done this many time. However, as a side note, a friend accidentally started to tear a part of the box that was not on the perforated lines, so just read carefully.

the medium duty are strong boxes and assemble in a few seconds
I read about a lot of boxes and it seems the basic duty boxes are weak and hard o assemble.But the medium duty ones have four flaps reinforcing the bottom and that falls into place when you open the box. Then you press in the handle cutouts and push down those sides into the ridge in the bottom seam to fasten the sides, then you press in the other two sides–done. Each side is double thickness. The lid flaps fold int and fasten in the seams as well.Very sturdy and nice looking.

Sturdy
These are good size boxes and just big enough to pack up a kitchen. You can only fit so many dishes in a box so it makes it easy to carry, stack and store. I recommend folding the creases before assembling so it makes them easier to construct. Of course it helps to follow the direction but once you have done one the rest are very easy.
