Disappointed: Over-priced and Powerless
I’ve had a handful of shredders over the years from cheap to expensive. The Bonsaii has been the worst of them all. After 2 minutes of usage it over-heats, you have to push paper into the threads and it can’t shred more than one piece of thin paper at a time. I should have returned this months ago. Amazon has a much better shredder for less; skip purchasing this one if you do shredding every day.

Small Design Error makes emptying messy
Positive re: the size of the container – it took me five months to fill it. Which is why I just discovered the NEGATIVE – the container is about one-inch to deep to fit a paper bag over the top of it for easy emptying. Emptying a “bucket” of scraps of paper by putting a paper bag over it and then turning upside down is so convenient, emptying by pouring it into a box or bag is messy. It is so close that it feels like a “we just didn’t think about it” mistake in design.Otherwise – it’s fine. It was on the lesser expensive side so I can’t complain that it is noisy and even though it says it takes 8 sheets, at 6 it starts making noises like maybe I shouldn’t put any more in.For my low-level needs it should be fine, but I will be grousing 2-3 times a year when I have to empty the container.

Works but is low bid.
I had my last shredder since 2019. I shredded alot of papers, credit cards, and staples over the years and she was solid. She started to show her blades were no longer sharp and she slowly did a less than perfect job, so I needed her replacement. This one starts up like an annoying vacuum cleaner. It is not nearly as solid as my last one. The basket is light plastic and doesn’t seem as solid. Price was good but quality is going to need the time test. Lets hope she lasts.

Nice, but be SURE to read directions before starting!
Happy w/purchase. Most of the time it is necessary to feed a sharp point of paper, envelope, etc. in order to start shredding. Once you do that you are good to go. Rollers are a nice feature. Waste basket is a good size and holds a lot. I empty about every 3 days. If you are looking for a good home office shredder this just might be the one.

Installation Is Difficult
Difficult to put together. It’s hard to get the shredder head firmly in place. At first it wouldn’t power on but after spending an hour or more trying to trouble shoot I gave up and decided to return it. A week later I tried to pack it up for return but had more problems. I was unable to remove the castersSo I left them on but it made it impossible to fit it back in the box and after a couple of hours gave up.A few days later I decided to reassemble it and reading the trouble shooting directions very carefully and checking online for help I got it to power on. The shredder head is heavy and very difficult to get it seated correctly on the body. It does not have any way to get a grip on it, and you have to push down on it really hard to get it to latch in firmly. But it does work. Since I can’t get it packed to return & I’m not pleased with the effort it would take to clear a paper jam if it ever happened. And since I have already purchased another shredder I’m going to give it to my friend who needs a shredder. In my opinion, this shredder is poorly designed.

Fast shredder.
So far, after a couple of weeks of use, the shredder seems to do its job. The only issue is the bin which gets stuck when trying to pull it out. It takes a few tries. I contacted the company and they asked me to take a video, etc. but I’ll see how it goes first. Other than that, it shreds well and is easy to use. The bin capacity is big. I shredded a large amount of docs without having to empty it. It’s also very light in weight as compared to my previous shredder that was about 20 years old.

I shredded an Amazon credit card, I had no idea it was made out of metal . It ruined the Shredder to the point of total disaster. Amazon should warn future buyers, not everybody is that experienced. The card looked and felt just like my other plastic ones. Remember that! Now I have been informed how to tell the difference, it will never happen to me again.

bonsai shedder

Efficient shredder
Love the wheels. Easy to move when you want. The first shredder that we have had can shred credit cards. A little too louder than our last shredder but it could not shred the cards. One day it stopped working. Following the instructions, I unplugged it for a few hours, then it worked again.

What’s good and bad

Worked Only So-So
I mean, as a small company, we do not shred a ton of things, but this shredder stopped working completely just before it is a year old. I don’t think at this point it would be covered under any kind of warranty. It actually has a burning paper smell coming from it when we tried to feed something into it a moment ago.

This product operates very well and cuts the pieces very small for added protection. Small but mighty
I bought this because my other shredder died after many years. I wanted to replace it with the same kind but the other brand was a lot more expensive. I found this one and decided to give it a try. So far it is doing a good job. It doesn’t take as much as my old one but that saved me half the cost. As long as it last half as long it will be a cost wash. Seems to cut up good as long as you don’t try to cut too many sheets at a time. Wastebasket is also smaller but isn’t ridiculously small. It also doesn’t fill up my outside can when I empty like the old one. All in all good shredder.
