Super easy to use
I have wanted an ear thermometer forever. I have always trusted Braun products so this was a no brainer. This is so much easier and convenient that any other thermometer I have used. I love the color coded readings and ease of use. The automatic shut-off is helpful. Readings seem accurate compared to my old forehead thermometer. It’s just a better thermometer for use on any age person!

AN improvement from oral thermometer
I decided to replace the oral thermometer, which I’ve had for 20 years, with an infrared style, and am pleased with the upgrade. My main incentive was speed of reading, which is almost instant. I also suspect that this is much more accurate. I’m usually on the low end of the normal 97-98°F body temperature range, and this thermometer consistently hits between 97.0° and 97.2°F. That matches what I generally have read at doctor’s office visits. The oral thermometer I had always read closer to 96° which I knew was a little too low. This thermometer does require one-use disposable covers, which could add up on consumables; however, generic brand covers are available (vs the Braun original) to keep the cost low.

Great ear thermometer
This is a great ear thermometer that gives you your temperature pretty quickly. You just put it in your ear and wait a few seconds for it to to its job and then you get your temperature. It works well on fussy people who cant sit still since it works very quickly. The results appear to be pretty accurate and were similar to the temperature given from an older thermometer I used to use. I like the color coding so you can see if you have a fever or not very easily. It runs on a battery that I think should last a very long time.

My third Braun Themoscan–Excellent reliability!
I love Braun Thermoscan thermometers! I have used them for years, and I find them to be reliable, accurate, and easy to use. This particular model has a couple of really nice features. Not only is the temperature reading backlit, but it also varies in color depending on the levels of temperature reading. If the temperature is elevated, it shows in yellow (normal is green), and if the temperature reaches the level of full blown fever, it is displayed in red. The temperature reading takes a single second, so there is no waiting and/or guessing involved. I like to test in both ears separately, and this device provides an easy and rapid routine in following this protocol. I tested this against my tried and true Thermoscan and found the readings to be absolutely consistent between the two devices. The package includes extra tip covers, which is also a nice touch and added convenience. Love the brand. Love the device. A solid 5 stars.

So very handy!
Taking one’s temperature is kind of a pain. Even with adults it can be frustrating to have to wait while the thermometer is in your mouth and you have to worry about whether or not that food or drink you just consumed would impact the reading. The ear is a good alternative, not just for kids but for adults.This is pretty quick and easy, to the point where I wish that I’d had this when my dad had a terrible fever back in November. I was trying to ply him with liquids and it was frustrating to try and take a temperature while I’m giving him back to back frozen drinks because those were some of the only things he’d consume. He was also a bit of a wiggle worm so this would have helped with that as well.I like that this has temperatures color coded to show the difference between regular, fever, and high fever. Something like that counts a lot when you aren’t feeling well or are caring for someone else who isn’t feeling great. I haven’t had the opportunity to test this while someone has a fever but the yellow and red colors look like they will be easy enough to read black text against.Price-wise, this is fine. It’s more expensive than some of the alternatives out there, but then this is something that you are absolutely getting for convenience and ease. Trust me, these are things you will want when you or someone else is sick, if getting this is possible. Braun is also a good brand, so I feel pretty secure in saying that this will be pretty durable and last long enough for people to get their money’s worth out of it.

Indispensable!
Every home needs a good thermometer for those times when feeling someone’s forehead is not enough, or especially one’s own when feeling unwell! Braun is a well known name in the thermometer business and this tool seems as accurate as an ear device can be. I used it on myself when I was ill last month and even that was easy and reassuring.Tympanics are good for taking temperatures as long as used properly, and I do consider this one to do a really good job in that case. Usually, they are not recommended for use in newborns, so I’m not so sure about this claim. Otherwise, I recommend this Braun ThermoScan 4 – Digital Ear Thermometer, IRT3515, Color Coded Audio Fever Guidance because it’s easy to use, easy to read, avoids the discomforts of taking an oral temperature while sick or when children are too young, and simple to keep clean. So, in this category or temperature taking, all good!

Appears to be an accurate ear temperature device. Easy to use, comes with ear covers. The cap that covers the ear sensor is hard to remove but other than that it’s a great product. It’s very quick to take temperatures. I do like the disposable covers for the sensor that goes into the ear.

This product is a hidden subscription
See the tiny orange button? That makes sure this thermometer refuses to work unless it has a disposable cap on. Great for hygiene! Absolutely necessary for any thermometer in a health care setting! But this one is for me to use on myself in my own home.It comes with a few of these disposable caps, but when they run out? The thing just refuses to work until I buy more. Obviously I was trying to buy a thermometer, a 1-time investment, not a subscription to little plastic crap.

Terrible
I only used this thermometer a couple of times o er the course of 2 months. Went to use it again today and continually get error message that the lens cover is not in place, despite the fact that it clearly is. To be sure, I have replaced the lens cover and assured that is is properly seated numerous times, but still get the same message. In addition, the window for making a return is closed so I am out of luck. Very unhappy.

Fast but Inaccurate
I purchased this thermometer to use for myself and a toddler. I love that it is fast, small in size and has a backlight to tell you if there is a fever or not. My biggest concern is that it has read lower than my previous Braun ear thermometer and I do not trust the results. This thermometer read 99*F when compared with a rectal in my child that was 102.1. Accounting for the fact that there is going to be a slight increase in a rectal temperature versus an ear temperatur, 3° is far too much of a difference for me to trust this thermometer.

Read a normal temp on an adult.
My caveat is this: if you’re an adult with a widened ear canal from long-term hearing aid use, this instrument won’t get an accurate reading. On other adults, it seemed OK.

I trust this brand.
Have used an earlier model for years. Was happy with its accuracy. After years it needed to be replaced. I already had plenty of the covers. This unit works just as well and I can continue using the covers I already had. It isn’t that expensive but the quality is still there! I highly recommend this company.

Not truly accurate
So I owned another Braun thermometer, very similar to this one. Had it since 2017 then earlier this year it stopped working. I followed all the steps to trouble shoot but nothing worked. That’s when I decided to get this one since the other model wasn’t available. Well, I’m pretty disappointed in this model. The readings are not very accurate. It also gives an error message quite often even though its suppose to be such a simple process (place in ear, press the button and wait for the reading). I kept it because I got rid of the box before trying it out. Had I kept the box before realizing how inaccurate the readings can be, I would have returned it. Find another Braun model or another thermometer altogether. I don’t recommend it.

Easy way to check one’s temperature
I think I would rather have the forehead one but I thought I would try this one. It requires plastic heads to cover the probe and I’m not sure if it’s an accurate measurement. The kit comes with 20 probe covers.

Braun is great
I dishonored my family and broke the original Braun thermoscan thermometer that my mom had since I was a child. It was still working for me to use on my son. Over 28 years old and still working great. Then I broke it. So I got the cheapest Braun brand which was the 4. It is absolutely wonderful. I tried it on myself and it said 101 and flashed yellow. I thought it was too sensitive until I did my husband and son and they were normal. Welp. But it works great!

Handy little tool for the little ones
I had a digital thermometer (the kind that you hover over the skin) that I felt was not functioning properly; it read different temps every single minute. My daughter has an older version of this one which she uses frequently with an almost 4-year-old and 16-month-old kids and it is still going strong after almost 4 years, so I bought this newer model. I love it and I’m relieved because I watch my grandchildren frequently when they are sick. What a difference. Make your life easier and get one. Great value and price!

Not this ThermoScan: Here’s Why
We’ve been using Braun Thermoscan for almost 20 years. For the kids going off to college we thought this simple model would be good. Plus, it has a light ast a great price? The problem? Inaccuracy that we verified by testing two. Missing the preheating and key feature to be sure it is inserted correctly. Flimsy and no better than any Chinese knockoff. Also, be certain you get a model with a case it can slip into to keep everything much cleaner, including the box of probes that can fit inside it. Which to buy? We instead bought two more Thermoscan 6 models. The 5 does not have the light for nighttime use and you will often find the 6 on scale.

Easy, straightforward one-button operation. I think what would make it better would be a soft, rubbery button as opposed to the the hard, plastic one, as well as an option to silence the beeps. Works well for pets….
I’m a vet assistant and got this thermometer to use for our general wellness patients and simple rechecks.The screen is easy to see and the reading is quick once it starts working. The battery is lasting a decent while. My complaints with this would be that the beep it makes is fairly loud (which is not ideal with some pets) and that you often have to push the button multiple times before it actually takes a reading.Overall, I’m fairly happy with this thermometer. No major complaints and I plan to continue using it.

I’m 65 years old & I now feel like an adult because I own this. Hate that I have to use the caps, which means you have an additional expense, but I will get used to it. It’s fast & easy. Now, I’m one of those nutcases that has 2 thermometers, blood pressure kits, & the thing that tests how much oxygen is in your blood. Because how can you be sure, right? What if the device is wrong, how will you know? So, I tested this Braun baby & it matched my cheap thermometer every time. My mission is complete!

Not accurate
The media could not be loaded.
When I push the button, it beeps impossibly fast.(My sister in law has a Braun and I compared. Hers takes a couple seconds to actually measure temperature, then the reading shows. Ours has a temp the second I press the button. And it’s always between 96-98. Right now my son is physically hot and it says 98.1. Just checked with our other reliable thermometer and it’s 100. I think Braun is good, from what I hear, but this product can’t be accurate. Not sure whether it’s a knockoff or what. Unfortunately we missed the return window because our littles didn’t get sick soon enough to use it. (In the video it first read error. Then I clicked and it cleared. I put it in the ear and you can see when I click and how fast it gives temp).

Super fast read!
The read is almost instant and very easy to use. Seems to be pretty accurate as well. The only thing I don’t like is that it will not work with out a cover on it. I’m all for a cover but it would be nice to have the option. But overall I’d say it’s worth the money.

So far so good
This is my second purchase. I gave one for my child for traveling and kept one at home. It’s smaller than the one I had for over 2 decades. It’s definitely a lot nicer.

Accurate and reliable
I recently beat covid, I ordered this to replace the thermometer that I had that was not working right, during covid this is the thermometer that I used to monitor my temperature, quick simple efficient and accurate. It’s durable and the readability is Made Simple by the multicolored backlight. If you’re in the safe Zone it’s green if you are in a elevated temperature it’s yellow, if you are in a dangerous temperature situation it reads red. I think all thermometers should be like this.
