Reminds me of old Craftsman
Reminds me of the one I saw as a kid in my Uncles garage. Thing has been oddly in heavy use with friends and neighbors suddenly needing it.Things to note – 12volt only. I actually do not mind this. I wanted a reliable charger for my vehicles.Easy to maneuver, which is good since the leads are kind of shortExpect this to last years/decades honestly.

Craftsman CMXCESM274 is a Good Roll Around Charger with Jump Start – Leads Could Be Longer
Very quiet not a loud buzz like older chargers. It has a timer on it for charging, so that’s good safety factor. The clamps on the tension could be slightly stronger bite. The leads could use another 2 ft longer for use on trucks. Great coating on clamps and good size wire being used for the supply.All in all it is a great roll around charger. Well worth a full 5 stars.

Made in China – unit damaged on arrival
This is the “new” Craftsman line which is Made in China.Upon arrival out of the box, the unit was damaged.The (amperage) gauge on the top panel detached and fell down into the case.I’ll need to take it apart and fix this issue myself.

Wheel charger for shops and dealerships.
This trademark red craftsman 175A wheel charger and jump starter is powerful and easy to use. Has multiple settings for charging/jump starting. Quality is par for 2022. The clamps are HD, and offer thick cable gauge, and ample length for hard to reach batteries. The wheeling portion works well, and is smooth. This craftsman product could easily be up to the task in any garage or dealership environment (service area, etc). I use this at my familys small used car dealership for all charging and jumping needs onsite.

Easy to use, simple controls
I really like that the Amp meter and controls on this charger are manual instead of digital button style like other brands. The charger seems to be very good quality and has no problem boosting/jump starting a very depleted battery. The leads, clamps, and cabinet are heavy duty and well made. It is easy to use and doesn’t over complicate the process of charging/boosting batteries.

Very Light, Quiet
This is the example of what a good battery charger is. Old fashioned and will do as it is set to do. Unlike the newer automatic chargers, this charger will charge a stone dead battery provided you watch the charger and the battery. This Craftsman is incredibly quiet, even on the 175 amp jump start. On the 6 amp charge, you can’t even tell it’s on other than by the gauge. 25 amp boost is a slight hum, similar to a fridge, but quieter. 175 amp jump start is similar to old fluorescent lighting, or an older fridge or freezer. The clamps are strong, but I would personally like heavier cables. The timer is accurate and reliable.This charger only works on 12 volt batteries. Not a big deal for many, but I wish it would do 6 volt yet, as I have both a collectible car, as well as a tractor that are still 6 volt. That said, I just use my old Sun charger strictly for the 6 volt batteries.

Good Customer Support
I received my original unit damaged in shipping. It didn’t power up at all. amazon referred me to the manufacturers tech support and they took care of me, it did take some time, but they made sure i got a new working unit.Functionally it works as advertised, all functions have to use the timer, there is no “HOLD” option like in others out there, so at least you cant accidentally leave a battery cooking over night. The only issue i have with it is that there is no wire organizer built in.

Jumped My Dead Diesel
The media could not be loaded.
I’m very happy with this craftsman charger. 175 cranking amps in the Engine Start Feature turned over my diesel when it was dead. This has a lot of capability when you can put amperage like that to something. I think this charger would be great for ALL cars if It can handle my diesel.The charger is very well-made. It’s in a hard plastic case with two hard plastic wheels under it. The handle is made of metal. It wheels around very nicely. It has two charging leads on it that are thick wire, maybe 6 gauge. The charge leads are about 6 feet long. They could probably be a little bit longer but since this is a mobile device you could just wheel it where you need it. The cables are very pliable and bend very easy for how thick the wire is. This charger has three settings for current—6 A, 25 A, and 175 A. It has a dial that goes to 135 minutes that you can set for charging time. I’m very happy with this charger. It is very capable and works flawlessly. I think for the money it’s a great value and I recommend it.

Doesn’t charge 6v batteries
This charger is for cars, not ATVs, motorcycles, or other small vehicles. This is not a “set it and forget it charger”. It will charge a car battery that is completely dead but you do have to keep an eye on it. If your battery is barely dead, you are going to connect this charger, give it a few minutes, and then start your car.This is not a portable charger. Although it is not huge or heavy, you will need to leave this in your garage. If you have a shop or many cars to charge, this charger will do the job. It is the first one that I have owned that comes with an amp meter, which is quite useful when charging a completely dead battery.

Lasted less than a year
I wanted a good charger for those times you need them most. This charger lasted less than a year with only a couple of uses. Such a disappointment. I will never buy craftsman again.

2 Charges– barely!
We used it 2 times. Had issues from the start and barely strong enough for the 2 times we used it. After that, nothing. Frustrating as we have had generic ones that didn’t cost as much last longer than this. We thought spending the extra money on a craftsman would get us a longer life out of this. Boy were we wrong!

Great portable charger
Used this charger to help revitalize my boat batteries. I like the 6amp slow charge option with the longer time to charge. Used the higher amperage to jump the battery during starting the engine and it worked flawlessly. If I could change anything I would make the handle lock a little more rigid as if you use the handle to pick up the charger to move over something it can slide out dropping the charger to the ground.

if you thought this was an old school charger, it is NOT!
This current limits and wont allow super charging or battery heating on old dead batteries. They dont want us to recover old batteries. My 50 year old 50 amp still out performs this piece of crap!

switches will turn past stops slightly, does not positively click into position .seems to work just fine though. easy to use, cables and connections seem sturdy,

OOTB Review: Nice Clamps, Wires, and Switches. Plenty of Power
The headline says it all. I’m generally happy with the unit and used it to great effect with a lawn tractor battery that was dead as a do-do. Negatives are: 1) no electronics to allow for automatic switch to trickle charge – this sucker charges at full tilt and then you have to turn it off; and 2) it’s just a bit too short to wheel around by the handle. I’m a regular built 6-foot human and I have to bend over to wheel the unit around.

I really like this charger i bought a few charger befor but i have to return it because they were to weak this one works perfect i needed to coding and programming my modules on my car this charger keep up really good thank you

Charger with a manual timer. Charging batteries that an automatic charger won’t charge. Perfect for what I needed.

Another import rebrand
Dissapointed to say the least. Craftsman has been releasing a bunch of new products under their name but imported and lesser grade. This seems to be one of emm the 175amp jump start setting failed to start my 430ci engine. Also the guage cover fell off after i rolled it over a crack on the floor. Much better out there for the price.

Modern Craftsman
This unit works great and has a much smaller footprint (maybe half) than the traditional commercial sized jump starter/ battery charger. Works as expected, great!
