Good replacement for Prilosec OTC
I used this to replace Prilosec OTC. Previously, I was prescribed 40 mg once a day and then when those symptoms started resolving, I began to use Prilosec OTC. This is a pretty good value in comparison. I switch to this due to price, would have given 5 stars, but I find this brand to have a slight aftertaste.

Great value
Less than 50% the cost of name brand and still about a dollar less than the discount off brand I can find locally. They work great for a esophagus issue I’ve had due to nighttime heartburn that I wasn’t even aware of until going to the DR for my issue and was recommended to try these until I could get back in for more testing

I’ve taken a bunch of different generic omeprazoles, and this was the worst. Somewhat less effective overall, but worse, some fraction of the doses just seemed to do nothing. After taking those doses, I’d experience the same symptoms I get when I miss a dose completely.Your mileage may vary, but I do not recommend this product.

Helps reduce acid production BUT
The prescription dose of this medication is 40 mg (as prescribed by my gastroenterologist). These are 20 mg so you really have to use 2 each morning before eating anything and using only a little water to swallow. If you have prescription insurance it may be cheaper to get your doctor to prescribe them. I bought them in an emergency and they did work fine but at the higher dose.
